Are a majority of matters controlled at the level of the United Kingdom as a whole, things like health care, defense, etc.

Or, is the level of autonomy much higher than with most other divisions in other nations?

I know it’s a very broad question but if anyone had a very basic rundown, I’d appreciate it. It’s something of interest to me but it seems the books or sites regarding the matter offer a far more specialized view, no simple explanation of the main picture.

And the previous sentence doesn’t refer to the government very much. What’s it mean to be on the political right?
